Valerio and Simona's wedding at Masseria San Giovanni was born like this...
I receive a message request on Instagram from Valerio, his photo intrigues me and I go to look through his profile. Amateur photo, it was clear and he confirmed it to me in the video call that we decided to set up after a few chats. Video call made on a day when we were offline at home, due to a storm, so sitting in the only point where I had some connection we chatted for a few hours even if we started thinking of being quick and taking a maximum of 30 minutes.
From there it was clear to both of us that this marriage between us and them had to happen!
Valerio is a creative boy, with a thousand ideas, enthusiastic; Simona, bubbly, supports him in his choices and follows him, always putting her best foot forward.
For their wedding at Masseria San Giovanni, Valerio and Simona wanted to bring London, the city where they live, together with their two dogs, also protagonists of this big day. So it was necessary to choose a team of super close-knit and collaborative suppliers to complete such an ambitious project. No sooner said than done, the team was soon formed and we were all ready to get involved in the hurricane of ideas and enthusiasm of the two newlyweds.
It was the wedding full of situations that we photographed in 2023. The preparation begins in two different farms, but in the same "total white" Apulian style, under the banner of toasts and focaccia, and then runs right into the center of old Bari, where Valerio was waiting for Simona in the Basilica.
At the exit, in the square in front, not only the guests were waiting for the bride and groom. Simona and Valerio wanted to surprise everyone with the arrival of their two dogs, to the point that they traveled by car and ship from London to bring them to Italy.
The street of orecchiette
After a beer with friends in an "ignorant bar" as per tradition with the groom's friends, we strolled through the alleys of old Bari. The choice together with the spouses was to photograph the most authentic part of these places.
Wedding at Masseria San Giovanni: London in Puglia
The beginning of October always offers a mild temperature, not too hot, not too cold, perfect for an outdoor wedding, but Puglia, as we know, is humid. This is why Valerio and Simona followed the advice of their wedding planner Giacomo from Sublimae to rent a tensile structure for the dinner.
Masseria San Giovanni welcomed the guests and then the bride and groom first in the courtyard under arches of lights and with a huge photobooth designed by The odd shot in London style. The typical London bus, the letterbox, the telephone booth, all elements that are part of the daily life of the two newlyweds.
Then, with the arrival of sunset, which gives way to the night, dinner begins. Crystal tensile structure under a carpet of lights, a huge colored luminary, a table marker with the logo of the London underground station, together with the one with the two dogs and the farm, a riot of colored flowers and candles welcome the couple as they parade between the tables imperials to greet their guests. A dinner which in reality was already the beginning of the party, because thanks to the Vagaband everyone danced without ever stopping to the notes of 12 elements and their instruments.
Late at night, after the spectacular cake cutting in front of the iconic church of Masseria San Giovanni, the party really begins. To conclude the evening, at least for us, the arrival of a mega order from Mc Donald's, because anyone who has frequented discos and danced until late at night knows that the evening cannot be concluded except with a low cost and unhealthy meal .
